How did I meet Eurythmy ? I attended the Bhakta Prahlad Eurythmy performance several years ago in Bangalore by a ensemble and I was inspired by the angelic movements. It wasn’t possible for me to go abroad to be exposed to this art form. When the new about this education being offered in India came up, I wanted to know more and enrolled for the fist module. Little did I know that I would be engaged in it for 8 years.
How was the course experience ? My biggest learning need was to be grounded and balanced from inside out. Being a sanguine, I wouldn’t finish tasks, or stay with something long enough and take it to its completion. Now i am most grounded, and efficient and effective in my work, life, family and all contexts. I can do much more and in a balanced manner. I never thought i could teach. This form offered me an opportunity to teach children and adults, awakening the “Teacher in ME” and I am enjoying and learning from that experience. It makes me richer and fulfilled. The teachers on the course are “God’s gift to me”. Guiding me, opening my eyes to my inauthenticity, encouraging me, urging me to practice, giving specific feedback has left a deep impression on me and a role model to strive to be. The training is for life and not just for Eurythmy, is how i feel!

How did I meet Eurythmy : My cousin who is deeply involved in Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy shared with me to the news of Eurthmy training starting in India for the very first time. Since I had stepped into the exploration of expressive arts and applied theatre as my core work, this news excited me, even though I had never seen a Eurythmy performance, workshop or even heard the term! Hyderabad as the training venue also drew me, with the idea of getting an opportunity to meet my parents often. I did not know why I was drawn to the course each module, but I decided to flow. In addition to the interesting and varied artistic work, the loving environment and the depth of experience of the teachers what pulled me towards this initiative was also the ‘madness’ of it all – to dream of a project like this ‘against all odds’ – itself was an inspiration and I wanted to serve this dream in whatever capacity I could.

How was the course experience ? Eurythmy has woven a golden thread through my life which I hold on to as special and a divine blessing. The varied experiences through the journey has enriched my perspective and experience towards art, environment, community,  my body and spirit – towards humanity, the cosmos and the chair I sit on! Most importantly it connects me to a community that I know I can belong to, be challenged by and grow with.

A special feature of this programme is that it is not a dogmatic passing down of a tradition, but an encouraging journey of adding to the stream of this young art form, through our own cultural and personal experience. So, even though I have been engaged in learning an art form of ‘foreign origin’, the process has only brought me closer to my own roots.

How did I meet Eurythmy ?

When I did my 3 year Foundation Course in Curative Education, each day of the module started with us moving together; sometimes bringing the stars down to the earth, at other times diamonds from within. There were those beautiful poems and rhythms we moved to and the work with copper rods that made me get into my body instantaneously! I felt happy and totally present in the moment- I was becoming whole somehow. Seven years hence when I took a sabbatical from working at the Curative Education Centre I was involved with,  Eurythmy India materialised and beckoned me.

How was the course experience ?

Eurythmy is definitely the gymnastics of the soul, from being a totally head person I can safely say that my feeling life is active now. I am more open now and appreciative of beauty- in people, in art work of all kinds and in myself. I feel a greater connection and reverence towards Mother Nature. Eurythmy allows me to experience the oneness with the elements and the Spirit. It also helps me understand Anthroposophy better.

Although eurythmy is a social art, it provides one ample opportunity to meet and accept oneself. The brilliant facilitators(our teachers) hold a safe space for us, gently nudging us, to find our way to attaining our true potential and becoming a more balanced Human Being. Resilience and creativity is the need of the hour and I hope to serve mankind through Eurythmy wherever I can.

Another beautiful gift has been the world of Words and Colors! The course has also allowed me to live through the various epochs of music and art.

After meeting Eurythmy I am never lonely even when I am on my own!

How did I meet Eurythmy ? I was into the anthroposophical movement in Nepal. I was very enthusiastic to learn and gain more experience of Anthroposophy. So I was looking for any training in Asia. So I was meditating for it. I have decided to do whatever comes first. I am open to any kind of training in Anthroposophy.
One day Jayesh Narasimhula from Hydrebad came to visit our school and he stayed one night in our school. He mentioned Eurythmy training in India will be soon in Hydrebad. But he never wrote to me about it. Around the same time Aban and Dilnawaz Bana also visited our school, they have also mentioned to me about the eurythmy training happening in India. During that time my friend Namita from Arambha Waldorf also visited our school. She also mentioned to me about Eurythmy training in India. So eurythmy is coming to me during that time. One day Namita sent me a flyer about training. I just applied for it as soon as I received it. As I have decided what comes first I will do that so I went to India for eurythmy training.

How was the course experience ? I was very young in the world of anthroposophy when I joined the training although I was very active in this field. Eurythmy has transformed me as an individual to follow the path of anthroposophy. I have learned alot from the training. All the wonder of the anthroposophy I have experienced through the eurythmy is an art of movement.
After the training I developed my lecturing skill, I have developed my observation of the human being and child in the school, I have developed my teaching skill etc which I don’t know how to write here.
Eurythmy training is so special and unique for me that I am able to open up myself for the spiritual learning in my life.

How did I meet Eurythmy ? I met Eurythmy in May, 2012 with Aban & Dilnawaz Bana in Khandala Seminar. I pursed learning Eurythmy with them till 2016 in forms of workshops & modules. By then I was very clear about my dream to be a Eurythmy therapist inspired by Dilnawaz Bana. As there was no Eurythmy Training in India in beginning of 2016, I started my training at Eurythmy Spring Valley in Newyork (school founded by Aban Bana’s teacher Dorothea Mier). After completing the 2nd year of my full time Artistic Eurythmy Training, I chose to continue my further training in India with Eurythmy India in part time format.

How was the course experience ? Coming back to India allowed me to start with my medical & therapeutic practice & continue with my Artistic Eurythmy Training at the same time. I felt very connected to my Eurythmy India teachers : Chrystal Hayn, Diana Skinner & Dan Skinner. I got the necessary guidance and support to be able to blossom as an individual through Eurythmy & Speech & Drama. All my resistance to artistic work dissolved & the artistic & therapeutic streams in my merged. Finally having completed my Artistic training with Eurythmy India, I embarked towards my dream to be a Eurythmy therapist.

How did I meet Eurythmy ? Back in 2013, I started my teachers training in Waldorf education. We were taught a few Eurythmy exercises. I felt good while doing those exercises. It always shifted something in me. So after my teachers training, I wanted to start my Eurythmy training. But formal training was not there in India. So I continued teaching in school as a kindergarten teacher. After a year my mentor in school informed me about a formal Eurythmy training coming to India. I wrote a mail to Eurythmy India, and in a couple of months our training started in Hyderabad.

How was the course experience ? When I joined the Eurythmy training, I was like a seed who was deep buried in the dark. Eurythmy helped me to bloom. It helped me understand my own self and my relation to the world around me. It sharpened my observation skills. It made me aware of my own boundaries. Speech and drama is one of the important aspects of training. And we are blessed to have one of the best speech and drama teacher. He helped me open up my voice. Courage to be on the stage and deliver the dialogue clearly. We also had the opportunity to meet different eurythmy mentors during our training. They came from different parts of the world to train us.
Eurythmy India part time training was a blessing to me and people like me who could never have been able to travel abroad for full time training due to our family and other job commitments. Teachers were always there for us in between the modules to help us,they made sure our practice went on well.
During the pandemic when everything was shut down, our training was still on via zoom calls, as it was planned, just the medium changed from in person to zoom. Dedication of our teachers was enormous. When I joined the training, I was very new to Anthroposophy. Every module we had reading sessions which made me aware of different aspects of Anthroposophy.
There was a slum near the school where I used to work. Whenever I passed from there I had a thought that the Waldorf school was started for cigarette factory workers’ children but now these poor children cannot afford to be here. I wanted to do something for them. Eurythmy gave this opportunity to me to fulfil my dream.
Now I am associated with an NGO who runs a few of the public schools. I teach eurythmy to those children. There is a sense of fulfilment and joy whenever I am with children. Eurythmy India came as a blessing and transformed my life and now through me it is transforming lives of many more

How did I meet Eurythmy ?

If I want to talk about how I met Eurythmy, then I must start with one person. This very person to me, she is my role model and example for eternal life . Her name is LiChen Lin. Now that I think about it I feel very lucky as I went to the only university in Taiwan that has a Waldorf Center which offer many Waldorf courses.

The very first moment when I met my teacher, the impression within my mind always seems to be so clear and lovely: When I was sitting in the last row in the classroom as I chosen a Waldorf course called Waldorf Senses Education. Why do I sit at the last row? Because if the class is boring, I can sneak out at any time.

However, what I didn’t expect was that when she walked into the classroom, and after putting down the bamboo basket , she started speaking, suddenly a strong force surged from the top of my head to my heart, and then I heard a voice within my heart that I have never heard again until now, it’s filled with excitement and joy: “This is it! This is it!”

Since then, I have been studying with her, and in the Waldorf Art Teaching course, I was fortunate enough to come into contact with Eurythmy. At that time, I didn’t know that I was on a path of no return. Sometimes, I can’t tell whether it is because her love for Eurythmy has infected me, or whether it is because I love Eurythmy very much, but I know that I love Eurythmy with all my life.

“I am truly grateful to be able to study Eurythmy with my Eurythmy India family. This feeling grows stronger every time we meet.

Here, I can not only learn Eurythmy from the best teachers worldwide but also, under the conscious guidance of our teachers and tutors, each of us develop our own distinct style in this living art form. This is incredibly precious and rare to me.

Moreover, I am immersed in the art of living from each of our teachers, tutors and friends. At Eurythmy India, I have witnessed the beauty of community life. To me, this place feels like heaven on earth.”

How did I meet Eurythmy ? I experienced the beauty of Eurythmy during my Waldorf teacher training. After becoming a Waldorf teacher, I spent my weekends studying Eurythmy. Later, my teacher died, and one of my former students was studying in Eurythmy India. He told me that I could come to India to study because of the excellent teachers and class atmosphere, so I joined Eurythmy India. Falling in love with Indian Eurythmy

How was the course experience ? Experienced teachers of Eurythmy India have given me the opportunity to work with my physical limitations through artistic activities. I have been able to open up to new ways of learning with better understanding and offer the same back to my students, both young and old; and this brings me great joy. Eurythmy has made me realise my talents and the potential of my speech and movement. It has helped me experience new meaning and has touched all parts of my life. Eurythmy India is full of warmth and will!

How did I meet Eurythmy I had joined IRA a Waldorf teacher training program and in some of our modules we had Eurythmy. Our teacher Katherine Lehman moved with such grace and I was spellbound with the movement. I came aross the India Anthroposophy page and found eurythmy India offering a five year part time training program and I knew I had to do it. I registered at the very last moment and met the teachers Diana and Dan who were so warm and encouraging that I fit right into the space they have so loving and painstakingly created. The first module was one ahh moment to another. I experienced music, drama and movement in a way that was immensely profound and I knew I would be coming back to the training no matter what. Rejuvenated and refreshed after each module, eurythmy has been a life altering (enriching) experience for me.
How was the course experience – One of the highlights of the course for me was meeting our exceptional teachers. From their extensive and rich experiences they brought to me many new perspectives and understanding of not just Eurythmy but life itself. I am forever grateful to all the teachers who have relentlessly worked to create this space for us. The course flows with an artistic impulse that helps brings out even the most hidden artistic expression, it has helped me explore and become confident in my artistic capabilities.

How did I meet Eurythmy ? I think it was in 2005, the seed was sown, when I met Dilnawaz, the first Curative Eurythmist of India. The interest grew as I attended workshops in Eurythmy in conferences and finally when the course for Eurythmy was announced in India, I couldn’t join the first batch because of personal commitments. But two years later, I happily joined the second batch to learn Eurythmy.

How was the course experience ? The learning of eurythmy at Eurythmy India is very special where a beautiful space is being created for people to come together and work together as a group as well as bringing out the individual dormant potentials through movement, speech and art. I always cherish the subtle transformations that happen within.

Heart, bearer of the soul

The power of your light in the spirit

Conjures life out of the human being’s

I am Chao Shu Feng (Phoenix) from Formosa. I previously studied part-time at 3ei Eurythmy School for 4 years. Later, I had to discontinue my studies at 3ei Eurythmy School because the school only accepted full-time students. However, I have always hoped for the opportunity to reunite with Eurythmy because Eurythmy India offers a structured learning program with five modules per year for five years. The tutors are world-renowned Eurythmy masters, providing solid and highly valuable content. The teachers are professional and compassionate. In this loving environment, I feel incredibly safe, allowing me to fully explore my mind, body, and soul. Throughout this year of study, I have experienced the inner freedom that Eurythmy brings. My very soul and heart guides my body, and my spirituality guides my heart and soul. In Eurythmy, I can learn to lead myself from within and realize that I am the center of my life. After each module, there is a transformation of light within my body and mind. My classmates come from India, Nepal, Iran, Singapore, and Formosa, creating an international Eurythmy learning experience that expands my horizons beyond the Chinese-speaking world.

I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to reunite with Eurythmy once again. Eurythmy is a place where the heart and courage of the soul are put into practice. You are welcome to join this big family of souls.

During my first year of eurythmy, I embarked on a transformative journey of self-discovery through movement. Initially, I was intrigued yet apprehensive about the unfamiliar practice. However, as I immersed myself in the course, I discovered a profound connection between my body, emotions, and the rhythms of the world around me. Through daily practice and guidance from experienced instructors, I gradually unlocked the secrets of eurythmy’s expressive gestures and harmonious movements. Along the way, I encountered challenges that tested my patience and determination, but each obstacle became an opportunity for growth. By the end of the year, I had not only developed a solid foundation in eurythmy but also gained a deeper understanding of myself and my place in the world.
