Eurythmy - a new movement art for the twenty-first century
Eurythmy is a movement art developed by Rudolf Steiner in Europe in the early twentieth century. In addition to being a new performance art the practice of Eurythmy is a dynamic path of self-discovery.
It is an essential component of Waldorf Steiner education, which is one of the largest independent school movements in the world. Successful qualification as a Eurythmist can lead to a professional career as performer, teacher or therapist, either in India or abroad.

Eurythmy Experiences: Hear from Our Students
My biggest learning need was to be grounded and balanced from inside out. Being a sanguine, I wouldn’t finish tasks, or stay with something long enough and take it to its completion. Now i am most grounded, and efficient and effective in my work, life, family and all contexts. I can do much more and in a balanced manner.
Eurythmy has woven a golden thread through my life which I hold on to as special and a divine blessing. The varied experiences through the journey has enriched my perspective and experience towards art, environment, community, my body and spirit – towards humanity, the cosmos and the chair I sit on! Most importantly it connects me to a community that I know I can belong to, be challenged by and grow with.
Eurythmy is definitely the gymnastics of the soul, from being a totally head person I can safely say that my feeling life is active now. I am more open now and appreciative of beauty- in people, in art work of all kinds and in myself. I feel a greater connection and reverence towards Mother Nature. Eurythmy allows me to experience the oneness with the elements and the Spirit. It also helps me understand Anthroposophy better.
When I joined the Eurythmy training, I was like a seed who was deep buried in the dark. Eurythmy helped me to bloom. It helped me understand my own self and my relation to the world around me. It sharpened my observation skills. It made me aware of my own boundaries. Speech and drama is one of the important aspects of training. And we are blessed to have one of the best speech and drama teacher. He helped me open up my voice. Courage to be on the stage and deliver the dialogue clearly. We also had the opportunity to meet different eurythmy mentors during our training. They came from different parts of the world to train us.
I was very young in the world of anthroposophy when I joined the training although I was very active in this field. Eurythmy has transformed me as an individual to follow the path of anthroposophy. I have learned alot from the training. All the wonder of the anthroposophy I have experienced through the eurythmy is an art of movement.
After the training I developed my lecturing skill, I have developed my observation of the human being and child in the school, I have developed my teaching skill etc which I don’t know how to write here.
Eurythmy training is so special and unique for me that I am able to open up myself for the spiritual learning in my life.
The learning of eurythmy at Eurythmy India is very special where a beautiful space is being created for people to come together and work together as a group as well as bringing out the individual dormant potentials through movement, speech and art. I always cherish the subtle transformations that happen within.
For me eurythmy has a deep meditative quality to it, and when I do eurythmy I experience inner quiet.
Eurythmy has life.. each word, each musical note is alive. It brings consciousness to sound, meaning and movement. It is an intrinsic expression of the human experience.
Eurythmy India has been a doorway to new experiences, perspectives, revelations and aha! moments. I feel that I have developed a new sense organ to experience this world with.
